Nylon — is this going to feel cheap?
It's coated technical nylon, the same family used in performance outerwear, not lining fabric. The weight is in the trim: pebbled-grain leather flap, leather handle, metal strap anchors. Cheap bags put leather-look on the body and hide plastic at the hardware. This does the opposite.
Will the light colourway get dirty and stay dirty?
No. The shell is coated, so marks sit on the surface instead of soaking in. A damp cloth handles coffee, makeup and city grime. Denim transfer on the sand shade lifts with a little mild soap. This is the main reason to choose nylon over untreated canvas.
Will the magnetic snap pop open on public transport?
The dome snap is set into a reinforced backing plate, so the closure pulls flat rather than peeling. For valuables use the internal zip pocket — the zip is the secure compartment, the flap is fast access. That's the intended split.
It looks slouchy. Does it just deflate?
It's meant to. The body is unstructured, so it takes the shape of what's inside and folds flat when empty. That's what lets it slide into a carry-on and come out looking right. If you want a bag that holds a rigid box shape on a shelf, this isn't it.
Is the long strap included or a separate add-on?
Included. Both carry options ship in the box — the short shoulder handle is fixed, the long crossbody strap unclips at the hardware. There is nothing extra to buy to unlock the third carry mode.

The strap thing is not a gimmick
I genuinely thought I'd leave the long strap in the box. I use it every commute, then unclip it the second I'm at my desk. Two bags in one, and the leather flap is properly grained — not that shiny fake stuff.
Spilled iced coffee on it. Fine.
Week two, full oat latte down the front of the sand one. Damp cloth, gone, no mark, no stiff patch. I've written off canvas bags for less. That's the reason I'd buy it again.
Holds more than it looks like
Phone, cardholder, keys, sunglasses case, small bottle. All in, flap still shuts. Only note is that it slouches a lot when nearly empty, which I've come around to but wasn't expecting on day one.

Snap has never opened on me

The grain is real and it's already softening nicely at the fold. Wish the inner zip pocket were slightly deeper, but that's the only thing I'd change.
Three months, no sag at the handle
Daily use with a heavy load and the handle seam hasn't stretched or gone shiny. That's usually where these bags fail. Still looks like it did in week one.
Rained on twice, no water marks
Walked twenty minutes through proper rain. Beads sat on the surface and I shook it off at the door. The leather flap darkened for an hour then went back to normal.
